Open Criss Cross Hungarian Stitch is a wonderful background stitch that you will use again and again. It is a very versatile stitch that Jinny likes to use for roofs on houses, clothing, bushes and more!

Open Criss Cross Hungarian Stitch is a wonderful background stitch that you will use again and again. It is a very versatile stitch that Jinny likes to use for roofs on houses, clothing, bushes and more!

Take a look at the video posted below.

Open Criss Cross Hungarian Stitch is just like regular Criss Cross Hungarian Stitch, except that in this version we will omit the cross stitch in between and just stitch the groups of three stitches. This is a fun way to let a little bit of our painted canvas peek through our stitches, adding dimension and texture to our canvas. Look at the diagram below and try it out on your next canvas. I know you'll love this stitch as much as Jinny
does!

Pro tip: Take extra care to pay attention to the numbering. It will give you the most efficient thread usage on this stitch.
